In the same vein as my previous series on hymns, I am planning a series on contemporary worship songs. To that end, I am asking each of you to share with me those contemporary songs from church that you have found most inspiring, that have spoken most deeply to you. This will allow me to compile a list that I can begin to work from as we look for how God can be glorified through them.

I am a committed Christian who was blessed to grow up in a strong supportive family in rural Iowa. I have spent the last 23 years in the northwest Chicago suburbs where I live with my wife of 19 years, Kay, and our three children. We are actively involved in our church, scouting and community activities. I am a graduate of Trinity International University in 1992 (B.A. Youth Ministry) and of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 1996 (MDiv Christian Education). I have worked in the field of Physical Security for over 20 years. I have been active in my church teaching and music for over 20 years and have been a guest speaker at churches since 2007. In addition, I serve as Chaplain for local Boy Scout troops. My passion is teaching others about God, helping them grow in their faith and encouraging their involvement in the local community. My area of specialty are public speaking, strategic planning, emergency management, community service, family ministry and youth ministry.
